Galeodea echinophora (Linnaeus, 1758) (Mollusca – Gastropoda – Cassidae) is the Type Taxon for the genus Galeodea Link, 1807. Rare in tuscan Pliocene, more common in the Castellarquato area (Piacenza (Emilia – Romagna).

The first specimen that we present to you from the family Cassidae Latreille, 1825, widespread but not very common, especially with intact specimens, in Pliocene clays and sands.
